Need to Know How Does Solar Power Work?

GAINESVILLE, FL - APRIL 16: Damon Corkern, wh...

The credit crunch is now global problem, and everyone is trying to find was to save a few dollars where they can. The subject of energy bills has no doubt been raised during these discussions. Wouldn't you love to stop giving the energy company so much money each month? It can break your heart every time that bill arrives and you have to hand over a huge chunk of your salary to a company who is probably already making way too much profit.

Imagine, having all the energy you desired and still having money in your pocket. How would that make you feel? Well here it is - home solar power systems. It could be just what you need. Now bear with me, I haven't lost the plot (Well not totally anyway!). Solar power used to considered an expensive alternative way to creating power for your home. This is not the case any longer. Making your own power using solar power technology is now a lot more affordable due to the advancements in this area. Yes, some of the more elaborate and complex systems can be expensive to install but once you have absorbed that expense the savings month on month, year on year can be quite dramatic meaning your energy bills will be substantially reduced if not eliminated completely.

Solar power is essentially energy that is absorbed from the sun. Solar panels are made of photovoltaic cells which are laminated between glass, fixed to a back-sheet which is then put into a rigid frame. So as to capture as much sunlight as they can the panels are fitted to your home, usually on the roof and they are placed facing between south east and south west. The energy produced is then used as electricity to power your home or if not used right away, it can be stored for later use in batteries.

It really is a simple system but one that can make a huge difference to your household budget and also your environmental impact on the earth. Ultimately we all need to become more aware of our environment and try to live a greener life.
